Ziemas pieteikšanās sesijā saņemti 56 pieteikumi
Latvijas Dizaina gada balvas 2026 ziemas pieteikšanās sesijā iesniegti 56 darbi. Visvairāk pieteikumu, kopskaitā 18, saņemts produktu dizaina kategorijā. No visiem iesniegtajiem darbiem 10 izstrādāti mācību procesā un tiks vērtēti atsevišķi. Šomēnes darbu uzsāks atlases žūrija, kas izvērtēs visus ziemas periodā iesniegtos darbus. Ziemas sesijā iesniegtos darbus atlases žūrija vērtēs līdz aprīļa beigām. Tad sekos konkursa otrā kārta, kurā starptautiska fināla žūrija izvirzīs finālistus no rudens un ziemas nominantu vidus. Fināla žūrija arī lems par katras kategorijas uzvarētāju un Latvijas Dizaina gada balvas Grand Prix un «Jaunā dizainera» titula ieguvējiem.
The NDAL event «Design Spring» will focus on international experience
On Tuesday, 31 March at 16.00, the National Design Award of Latvia (NDAL) event «Design Spring» will take place at the new premises of the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC) — the Tobacco Factory creative quarter. In the first part of the event, Rita Šteimane, head of the animation studio «Panic», will share her experience in exporting creativity, while designers Anna Līva Traumane and Harijs Vucens from the studio «Onlyonly» will speak about participating in international design exhibitions. The event will conclude with a guided tour of the Tobacco Factory quarter, led by architect Uldis Lukševics (NRJA), one of the authors of the architectural and design solutions of the restored buildings.
Winter Submission Deadline Extended to April 5
It is still possible to submit your work for the National Design Award of Latvia 2026 (NDAL) until 5 April. The competition organiser — the Latvian Design Centre — invites designers and commissioners to submit both large- and small-scale projects created since January 2023. A broader range of entries not only allows for a comprehensive overview and evaluation of the Latvian design landscape, but also enables meaningful comparison of designers’ achievements and fosters discussion on the potential of design. Participation in the competition is also an opportunity to promote oneself and one’s work, as well as to receive evaluation from other industry professionals.
Winter Submission Now Open for the National Design Award of Latvia 2026
From 18 February to 20 March 2026, the winter submission period for the National Design Award of Latvia 2026 is open — a national award in design aimed at identifying, evaluating, and promoting the most outstanding achievements of Latvian designers, while fostering the development of the Latvian design sector. Works may be submitted in five categories: Product Design, Service Design, Communication Design, Environmental Design, and Digital Solutions. The achievements of Emerging Designers will be evaluated separately.
