Brief description of the project

The kokle embodies Latvian traditions and is an important cornerstone in Latvian culture and consciousness. It embodies a tradition and culture that has not undergone significant changes for hundreds of years and is considered a part of the Latvian cultural canon. But cultural heritage is not a type of frozen baggage that contains the past – it is created every day. Cultural heritage is preserved if it is integrated into modern forms of everyday life. The instrument features a curved body with a newly designed integrated tuning pin solution which ensures lower string tension, longer lifetime, less tuning and more comfortable playing.
