Multimedia exhibition Invisible Lives
Brief description of the project
The content of the international exhibition created by 15 photographers about the everyday life of five visually impaired community representatives was created during the artists' stay at the residence of the Rucka Art Foundation in Cēsis in July 2021. The exhibition is arranged in interactive stations, each dedicated to one protagonist of the exhibition. Specially designed for the needs of the visually impaired community, the exhibition has been adapted and made accessible to visitors with functional visual impairments. The visual stories are accompanied by a soundtrack, an audio commentary describing the photographs, tactile 3D objects and Braille elements. All design solutions were created in cooperation with the representatives of the Latvian Society of the Blind, testing and checking how suitable they are for the needs of the visually impaired community before implementing them.
