Prototype of the Digital Information Platform «Radošie + darbs»
Brief description of the project
«Radošie + darbs» is a prototype of a digital information platform—an innovative tool that helps creative professionals in Latvia better understand their position in the labor market. The platform enables users to identify their common types of employment, understand the associated tax systems, and take care of their social protection.
It brings together information that would otherwise be scattered across more than 20 legal documents and publications from the State Revenue Service (VID), presenting it in a user-friendly and accessible format.
The prototype was developed as part of a professional doctoral research project at the Art Academy of Latvia, titled «Creatives and Work. Design Solutions for Informational Support in Employment and Financial Literacy of Creative Professionals», supervised by Professors Barbara Ābele and Andris Teikmanis. The visual design was created by graphic designer Patrīcija Jolkina, a graduate of the Academy’s Graphic Design BA program (supervised by Professor Inguna Elere).
The research addresses the challenges faced by creative professionals after the rushed and poorly communicated tax reform implemented in Latvia in 2020, offering a design-based solution to support navigation and understanding of the new system.
The prototype has been tested by 675 users, including both creative industry professionals and VID representatives.
