Brief description of the project

The Riga Castle Convent is a historic building in the Old Town, on the banks of the Daugava River, with 700 years of history, built in different periods of time, starting from 1330, and each century has brought new reconstructions and transformations. The building has been a seat of power at all times and therefore contains important historical information for Latvia. In November 2023, the reconstruction - renovation process was completed on this part of the building. During the reconstruction of two important rooms of the building, the Chapel and the Remter, the inter-storey ceilings were dismantled, which for several centuries divided these 8 metre high rooms into two floors. Now, as a result of the reconstruction-restoration, these rooms have regained their original spatiality. An important part of these changes are the new windows built into the south facade of the palace facing Daugavas gātes Street, combining the 2nd and 3rd floor windows into a single vertical element, 6 metres high.
