Brief description of the project
I Grew Up In the Blockhouse is a digital archive of collected personal stories about the blockhouses built during the Soviet years that creates space for discussion and connection between its residents. The project discusses the problems of social isolation and the poor condition of buildings and tries to find a common denominator between Latvian and Russian-speaking social groups. Through personal narratives, the project aims to inspire people to create a united community, encourage them to make initiative-taking decisions and improve their living conditions.
